The kids seem to gravitate toward this game and stick with it, despite the fact that it falls apart on them. I got online, not to write a review on this, but to find a marble drop that will hold together better. I ran across this one and decided to contribute my 2 cent’s worth.

My 3-year old son loves this and plays with it every day. However, it is sold by a major national toy store chain for $19.99.

Amazon – -why do you let third-party vendors rip people off!

My husband is a mechanical engineer by trade and I’m a ‘quality’ freak.

We bought this for our son’s birthday, and I have to agree with Jennifer on her review: Imaginarium’s Marble Race is a piece of junk.

The set is also limiting in its scope for building. One has to follow the instruction book to a ‘t’.

It looks cool and amazing on the box, but the plastic is second rate, thinner than the other set our son has (by Marbulous), and the pieces fit poorly.

Sometimes the marbles get stuck at the openings if the fit isn’t completely flush–which often they are not due to the molded plastic.

Also, the lengths of the slides and twists aren’t the same length so it makes for a poor fit.

We bought this for my five-year old son and he can’t get enough of it. He has played with it for at least an hour a day since Christmas. He has no problem putting it together and has thrown pieces around our living room without breaking them (and we have marble floors!).

We are very happy with the quality of this product.

We all love our marble race! My 5 and 3-year-old daughters have a blast with it every time we get it out.

But, my husband and I enjoy building the race too.

Sometimes the marbles get stuck in the loop de loop, but it otherwise runs just fine when pieces are put together right. Even when the girls put it together and the engineering isn’t quite right, they don’t seem to mind.

They just like building it and then watching the marbles run.

They don’t care if it isn’t looking or operating perfectly.

We actually have the “girly” pink/purple race–same thing, just different colors.
